With Easter upon us, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Kalihi Union Church (KUC) community for their continued partnership with Touch A Heart, which is now in its third year.

"We love the partnership that KUC and Touch A Heart have," said KUC Pastor Kendal. "Our church is blessed with the ongoing development of relationships with the Touch A Heart team and people at KUC. We love seeing some them coming to church, getting baptized, serving and being involved in the church life."

Within the past year, several of our graduates were baptized at KUC, including most recently our apprentice Leslie on Palm Sunday, April 10.

"They made genuine commitments to the Lord and demonstrated their testimony of their sin being buried and rising victorious in Christ," said Pastor Kendal. "Though baptism is not what saves us—it is Jesus who saves—they were encouraging in their declaration of making Christ number one. Easter is all about that for us. Anytime we see someone from Touch A Heart growing in their faith, it demonstrates the joy and power of our risen Lord who transforms lives."

The bonds created with the KUC community and Touch A Heart have also extended to members continuing to pray for and correspond with letters to our graduates while they're away serving their sentences. These positive connections are a vital part of providing them with the right support before, during and after incarceration so that they can avoid reoffending and instead become contributing members of their communities and achieve financial independence.

The KUC ohana welcomes everyone to join in celebrating Easter at any or all of the following events: Communion tomorrow, Thursday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m.; Good Friday service on Friday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m.; sunrise worship on Easter Sunday, April 17 at 6 a.m. at Kewalo Basin, followed by breakfast at KUC from 8:30 to 9 a.m., regular Sunday service times at 7:15 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., and children's program at 10:45 a.m
