Serving With Aloha
As National Volunteer Month comes to an end, we want to recognize the many individuals who generously share their time, talents, and hearts with Touch A Heart. While we've had the privilege of featuring a few volunteers throughout April, we would be remiss if we didn't acknowledge the entire community that makes our work possible. As a nonprofit organization, we strive to be good stewards of our resources and rely heavily on our volunteers. Quite simply, we wouldn't be able to do what we do without them.
We're grateful for our Baker's Heart volunteers, who join us every other Saturday to package our products with care. During the busy holiday season, they show up even more often, giving their time and energy when it's needed most. We're also thankful for the many guest volunteers who jump in to support, as well as those who join us at pop-up events to help share our story and connect with the community.
Each Wednesday, another dedicated group of volunteers delivers ʻOhana Meals to homebound kūpuna. For many of these customers, these visits bring more than a meal--they bring connection, care, and a friendly check-in that reminds them they're not alone.
Many of our volunteers serve quietly behind the scenes and prefer not to be featured, but their impact is no less meaningful. It's important to honor their contributions, even if they choose to remain out of the spotlight.
Our volunteers are also our strongest ambassadors and supporters, helping advance our work to provide meaningful job training and opportunities for those facing barriers to employment. They show up without judgment and instead bring open hearts, encouragement, and a willingness to walk alongside others as they build brighter futures.
Volunteering is a powerful way to give back, build connections, and be part of something meaningful. If you've ever felt called to get involved, we welcome you—there are many ways to serve, and everyone has unique and special gifts to share.
